INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION 4.0

Industrial revolution 4.0, use of information technology, communication, steam boilers, electronics, electricity, IoT, internet, history, signs, characteristics, years.
The fourth industrial revolution or often called the 4.0 industrial revolution is a major change in the industrial sector, where information and communication technology is maximized to achieve the highest efficiency. It is undeniable that at the moment there are already many technologies that utilize it such as process control remotely using information and communication technology or the coolest in terms of IoT (Internet of Things). The automation process is also part of it, so the efficiency of the process can increase rapidly.

The industrial revolution 4.0 provides a very broad opportunity for business people because they can maximize their business, including marketing, using information technology and communication. In addition, consumers also benefit from this. The community no longer needs to go around with vehicles to look for their daily needs, just by using a smart phone or computer connected to the internet we can order food, drinks, or other necessities.

4.0 industrial revolution by utilizing information and communication technology in the production process in the form of automation in carrying out activities. This will be very efficient, with low prices can make the production process to the maximum. The result will be better because the accuracy of the process with automation technology is higher when compared to human power. Fatigue factor and emotional level are very common deficiencies in the use of human power. This can be avoided by the use of information and communication technology, especially in the field of automation. If a production process can be carried out at a low cost, then the product will also be sold at a cheaper price. This can be an advantage for consumers because they can get goods at lower prices and better quality.

In addition to profits, the 4.0 industrial revolution will also be a negative impact on the community, especially for those who are technologically illiterate (technology stutterers). Business people who cannot use information and communication technologists will be trampled on. Unemployment will be greater because the industry does not need to use human labor for the production process.

Every change will definitely produce an impact, both positive and negative. On the one hand there are some people who benefit from these changes, but on the other hand there will be those who are harmed. Therefore we must be wise in responding to every change.

As an additional material, I will describe the level of industrial revolution and its signs.

First Industrial Revolution; Characterized by the use of mechanical systems and steam boilers. Steam engine is a machine that uses the pressure of steam and converts it into a mechanical motion. The inventor of the first steam engine was the Hero of Alexandria and experienced the most development by James Watt. The use of human and animal power has been replaced with mechanical power from steam engines. This happened at the end of the 18th century. In this era there was a reduction in human labor and there was a lot of unemployment, but state revenues increased rapidly.

Second Industrial Revolution; Marked by the use of electricity as a source of energy. Electricity was first discovered by Michael Faraday who was a British scientist with the nickname "The Father of Electricity" because his electricity was something that was very useful for life. Machines that use a lot of steam booster are replaced by electricity. Production machines become more practical because they are easier to control. Production costs can be reduced so that the price of goods can be cheaper. In addition, in this era there was the emergence of combustion motors so that motorized vehicles, cars and aircraft emerged. From here the beginning of the mass production of products with relatively the same results. The second industrial revolution occurred at the beginning of the 20th century.

Third Industrial Revolution; The beginning of the revolution was caused by the discovery of transistor technology in 1947 by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain, and William Shockley patented under the name "Semiconductor amplifier; Three-electrode circuit element utilizes semiconductive materials. "From the invention of the transistor it developed into an Integrated Circuit (IC) concept conceptualized by Geoffrey William Arnold Dummer. From here comes personal computers, electronic communication devices, and control equipment from ICs or computers. Digital control systems are developing so rapidly that mass production of goods appears which can reduce production costs. The third revolution occurred in the early 1970s.

Fourth Industrial Revolution; Marked by the use of information and communication technology in the production process or product marketing. Here there is a combination of automation with the internet, better known as IoT (Internet of Things). All activities will be connected to the internet starting from buying and selling, monitoring production, controlling traffic, and there are still many activities that have used the internet as a basis for data processing. This revolution took place from the beginning of 2018.

Let us always improve ourselves by continuing to learn so that we can keep up with the times.
